About the performance
Leaving Only a Trace is a passionate and revealing story of a young British Asian man
who realises the only way to find himself is to leave home.
An inventive fusion of performing arts old and new, this is a striking piece of visual theatre rooted in South-Indian dance, with live music and minimal design, aimed at a modern audience.

Outreach and Educational Work
Shane Shambhu Company can deliver a wide range of dance and theatre educational projects. Experience levels can range from amateur, beginner young people/adults to very experienced undergraduates, graduates and professionals.
This includes supporting workshops in Indian dance, Contemporary, Bharatanatyam derived movement vocabulary, Physical Theatre and Rhythm.
Company History
This is the first production from Shane Shambhu company. The company was founded to create visual theatre rooted in the classical dance form of Bharatanatyam.
Shane Shambhu Company uses this traditional form to explore the modern mindset; bringing together cultures by reinventing this classical Indian dance style to create work that identifies with the changing ideals of people from the Indian diaspora to share with audiences young and old in a unique style.
Recent Productions / Tours
This is the first production from Shane Shambhu Company. As a freelancer Shane Shambhu has worked and toured regularly both nationally and internationally as a dancer/actor with numerous companies including Nina Rajarani (Place Prize Winner 2006), Shobana Jeyasingh Dance Company, Icon Theatre and in Complicite's A Disappearing Number which included a radio play for BBC 3 and screened worldwide as part of NT Live.
